Totally Desi Party Menu For Your Next Gathering

Be it a birthday party, a wedding party or a success party, the main thing we look forward to is the ‘menu’. Of course, meeting and getting together is the essence of a party, but food truly sets a tone to it. After all, good food puts you in a good mood! The process of finalizing a party menu sometimes gets stressful. Each food on the menu must catch your guests’ eye and draw them in, making them think, “I want to try THAT!”. This time, we decided to help you plan a total desi party menu for your next gathering. Our list is full of fun, treasured recipes which are guaranteed to be the crowd-pleasing highlight of your party. Let’s begin-

First on the menu has to be a Hyderabadi special starter - Boti Kebab! This mutton lover’s kebab is a lot easier to make than you might think. Start by cooking marinated cubes of mutton, then grill them until completely cooked. While grilling, ensure you baste it with melted butter from time to time so that mutton does not dry out. Finally, once done, transfer to a plate and serve with the onion lachcha and the Mint Chutney.

Moving on to the mains, we suggest you set up a live counter for Dosa. Here, you can have variety, or stick to one style. If you want to elevate the experience then you can opt to serve Andhra Pradesh’s famous Pesarattu or green moong Dosa, a healthy and unique delicacy. Unlike regular Dosa batter, this Dosa batter contains urad dal and green moong as their main ingredients.

For a curry, serve Malai Korma in two different forms. One for vegetarians with chicken and the other one for the vegetarians with paneer. The main part for either of them is to drizzle fresh cream on top before serving along with roti. This creamy, rich and flavourful Malai Korma will make your guests feel a little royal.

No party is complete without an authentic rice-based dish like the delicious Kachche Gosht ki Biryani, which is straight out from the Mughals Kitchen and is very popular for its flavourful taste. To make  Kachche Gosht ki Biryani, rice is almost half cooked, and meat is just marinated and cooked in dum along with the rice which is served hot with raita.

Lastly on the list is a classic Hyderabadi dessert, Qubani ka Meetha. This deliciously unique and simple dessert is made by cooking apricot puree which is then filled into individual glasses and topped with malai. The irresistible taste of Qubani ka Meetha will make you happy right from within just as you try a spoonful.

We hope these lovely recipes elevate your party and get your guests talking about them!
