Snack In A Total Hyderabadi Style

Meals are an integral part of life. It is said you are what you eat! That is why when you eat healthy, you feel refreshed from within. Don't we all have one favorite dish that makes our mood ‘all well’ within a bite or two? For me it is Chai - Samosa combo, that lightens up my heart anytime, anywhere. Having said that, I believe, rather than sticking to just one snack we should try out a variety to see if we can find anything better than our pre-loved recipes. In this journey of exploring snacks, I came across Hyderabadi snacks and I think they give my Chai - Samosa combo a tough competition! So, here I am sharing a list of such ultimate snacks that you will love.

First on the list is the classic, creamy Irani Chai with bun maska, a combo to die for. Unlike the usual chai, Irani Chai is rich and flavourful as it is made using malai wala thickened milk. Then why wait to experience this combo which makes you feel royal?

Next, with the chai, we need some Osmania Biscuits and Karachi Biscuits which are freshly baked. These sweet biscuits simply elevate tea-time. To make the Karachi Biscuits, start by kneading a dough, and then roll it into a thick log. Then cut it into medium thick roundels, place them on a baking tray, garnish with mixed nuts. Once baked enjoy with a cuppa tea.

Then we have a Hyderabadi special starter - Boti Kebab! This mutton lover’s kebab is a lot easier to make than you might think. First, marinate cubes of mutton, and pressure-cook it after three to four hours. Then, heat a grill and grill the mutton cubes till completely cooked. While grilling, ensure you baste it with melted butter from time to time so that mutton does not dry out. Finally, once done, transfer to a plate and serve with the onion lachcha and the Mint Chutney.

Next is a recipe loved by one and all- Chicken 65. The marinated and deep-fried chicken pieces are crispy and succulent, while the spiced yogurt-based sauce adds a burst of zesty and tangy notes. This tantalising non-vegetarian delight is a true culinary adventure that sets your taste buds on fire and leaves you wanting for another bite.

Last but not the least is the delicious Keema Samosa where spicy keema or lamb mince  is encased into a crispy pastry made of refined flour. This classic street food starter is a tough competition for all your favorite recipes. Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.

I hope you enjoyed the list of snacks and will try them out soon.
