So, first on the list is …
Soyabean Pie
Ok the Soyabean Pie will take a bit of labour and skill, especially where making the pie is concerned. The stuffing of this pie is what you would usually make for a soya granule subji. In goes the stuffing and out comes a wonderfully, crunchy savoury pie. An added plus is the protein content in the soya. Just think, how delighted your near and dear ones would be to come home to cute-looking pies ! They would be as excited to know what’s in it.. Keep them guessing, as they learn new foods.
Matar Samosa
You have probably heard of green peas gujiya. It’s a savoury D-shape pastry, with the artistically-sealed edge. With Matar Samosa, we differentiate as regards the shape, by giving it a triangular shape. Naturally, of course !! It’s a samosa afterall !! Also, from the traditional gujiyas that have a sweet stuffing, we replace it with a spicy preparation of green peas cooked in aromatic spices till tender. With that crunchy pastry cover, it makes for a delightfully crunchy samosa. Good way to get your kids to eat peas that are rich in potassium and fibre.
Banana Cake
One of the few fruits that taste wonderful as a bakery delicacy or dessert, the wonderful aroma of a Banana Cake baking is mesmerising. Do you smell the lemon in it ? That’s fantastic !! Yes this is an interesting combo of banana and lemon, though in small proportion …. Adding to the excitement is the fancy shapes the cake takes when it is ready. Kids will surely go crazy for it.
These recipes are interesting to make. With patience and labour of love, you have already won hearts.
