It’s dinner o’ clock!

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. As the name itself suggests we break our long overnight fast with the first meal of the day. But very few people speak about the importance of dinner. The last meal of your day should quarter your appetite. Indians have a culture or an undermined rule of each Indian household to eat at least one meal together. We take, “Family that eats together, stays together” way too seriously and that one meal together is mostly supper. Dinner is the only meal which we eat without any tension and it’s supposed to be a relaxation time after a long day with our family. Indeed dinner gets spicy at times with some dinner table conversations, jokes and some gossip. Many people don’t know that a healthy sleep, a healthy day and good mental health are majorly connected to our last meal. Maintaining your blood pressure, sugar levels, heart disease, and mental health is directly linked to what type of dinner you eat. The healthier the supper is, the healthier your body will be, so it’s important to know what you eat and here are a few dinner ideas which will be of great help!

Phulkas and Palak Paneer

Roti and sabji is a staple Indian lunch. But it's a very good dinner as well. A plain roti is an excellent source of fiber which is easy to digest. Getting that round roti might be a task but don’t worry, here is the recipe to make perfect phulkas. This typical Punjabi preparation of Palak paneer where paneer is cooked in a spinach gravy is so delicious and easy peasy that you're gonna lick each and every finger once you finish eating. Mind you palak is a power-packed leafy green and paneer gives you proteins which keeps you full and quenches your mid-night cravings.

Chana Dal Parantha

Paranthas are such an amazing thing that are versatile, delicious, and easy to make. You can have it with anything from pickles, chutney, dahi, and or simply with butter or ghee.

Paranthas with a cup of dahi and some salad and there you go, a super healthy dinner is ready within minutes. And they are the perfect example of something with less mehnat and maximum flavours! This Chana Dal Parantha will take your parantha

game to another level cuz’ it is simple,

yummy and unique too.

Kanda Poha

Where should I start when we talk about Poha? The very popular Maharashtrian multi-talented snack, breakfast, or dinner is extremely easy and healthy. Poha sometimes gives all of us the “sharmaji ka beta”vibes as it’s loved by everyone and aces its job of satiating our hunger. This delicious delicacy doesn’t need any introduction nor any accompaniment. Squeeze some lemon and garnish it with some freshly chopped coriander. You are perfect to go!

Oats Idli

People usually think that Idli is a great snack and a breakfast option only but let me tell you Idli is also an amazing dinner. Idli is light and a fulfilling dish for a quick and fuss-free weeknight dinner and oats helps in keeping your hunger pangs at bay. This can be a great option to have a peaceful and healthy sleep after dinner.

Moong Matar Khichdi

If someone says that you can’t have rice and carbs at night, tell them “shayad tum galat ho!” Khichdi is one of the most light and healthy dishes to end your day with. One of the simplest things you can make and it’s such a nutritious dish that can be done in a blink of an eye. But isn’t a regular khichdi boring? If that’s the matter, give it a makeover by trying Moong dal and Matar Khichdi. Don't take this for a basic khichdi, the first and foremost thing is that this is way too delicious, and secondly, it is a power- packed meal and it can be a good way to end your day!
