Saturday night calls for some spicy street style snack items. Thinking about which already makes us drool. But can we actually make those street-style chatpate starters at home? The answer is yes, as we bring to you a list of popular non-vegetarian recipes that are tried and tested to be amazing. So wait no more, and embark on this spicy route to make your saturday dinner plan ultra fun.
Tandoori chicken
First on our list is the most popular starter recipe. Tandoori chicken is something that has pretty much put India on the global food map, several years ago! The chunks of chicken on the bone are marinated in yogurt and delicious Indian spices and then grilled in a clay pot tandoor till the outside is beautifully charred and the meat is juicy and succulent. Now if you don't have a clay pot tandoor, then you can infuse the marinated chicken with the flavor of charcoal by placing a steel katori with the piece of hot coal in the center, then pour some mustard oil on the charcoal and cover immediately. Set aside for 5 minutes, then put the chicken in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. Baste with some more butter once it is taken out of the oven. Serve with green chutney, onion roundels and lemon wedges.
Tandoori Mutton
Next after tandoori chicken, we have Seekh Kabab or tandoori mutton. These too are excellent starters for any cocktail party or a simple Saturday night. These succulent kebabs literally melt in the mouth. First the mutton mince is marinated with aromatic spices, chopped onions and fresh coriander and then it is shaped around skewers and grilled to perfection. Again you can apply the same baking technique for these if you like. Then simply baste with some more butter. This basting gives the kebabs a delicious charred outside and moist inside texture.
Chicken Chaap
Now comes another popular recipe- Chicken Chaap. This delicious chicken mince snack is actually quick and easy to make at home. You start off by mixing chicken mince together with spices, then divide that mixture into equal portions and wrap each portion around an ice cream stick. Sounds fancy, isn't it? Then grill it and it's ready to serve hot with green chutney, onion rings and lemon wedges.
Chicken Shawarma
Lastly, we have a healthy, easy and flavour-packedchicken shawarma recipe. Begin by marinating chicken breast in spices and then roast it till the chicken is done. Then place it on a chopping board and slice thinly, so that our chicken shawarma is ready. Now spread some of this chicken mixture over pita bread along with some veggies and sauces, roll them together and serve.
We are confident that these spicy snacks will enhance your saturday mood.
