The sound of rain and the aroma that comes after, is so soothing that everyone falls in love with it. That moist weather demands for something crispy, garma-garam fried snacks. Warmth of the fried dishes, soups and beverages is a must. We all crave for something nice, but most of the time, it becomes hard to decide what to make. So, here are some street-style chat-pate snacks for you to indulge into before monsoon ends.
Pakode
Undoubtedly the first on our list is some golden fried fritters- pakode. Monsoon and pakode are just inseparable, aren't they? There are so many different types of pakodas that you can make at home like the moongdal pakoda, kanda bhajiyan, Schezwan Chicken Pakora, Gobhi ke Pakode, Methi Palak ke Pakode , assorted pakodas etc. Our favourite is the good old chai and pakoda combo. Chop some potatoes without peeling along with some onion and green chillies, add in spices and fry till golden. Keep the pakode on a serving plate and serve hot with chai and green chutney.
Kachori
Next on the list is our all time favourite khasta kachori. The crispy outside and flavourful stuffing on the inside is absolutely amazing. This kachori is a great snack that stays fresh for a long time, so make a big batch and store it. The other kachori that you can try is green peas kachori. It is easy to make delicious kachori stuffed with a flavourful green pea mixture, perfect for monsoon.
Vada Pao
Mumbai’s speciality vada pao is a must in monsoon. Spicy potato mixture coated in gram flour and then deep fried till golden to make the tasty vada, which is then sandwiched between pav bread along with chutneys. Serve this garma-garam vada pao with a fried chilli and some of the fried batter pieces. The spicy taste will get you to love the monsoon instantly.
Cutlets
Talking about fried snacks, cutlets are a must. There are so many mouth watering cutlet recipes that are not only tasty, but also easy to make like the Paneer cutlets, crispy chicken cutlets, chawal ke cutlets, etc. We recommend you to try out the ragi cutlets. To make this, combine sprouted ragi, potatoes, gram flour with spices and fry to perfection.
Honey Chilli Potatoes
Last on the list is a crispy potato recipe, just like the one you get at a cafe- Honey Chilli Potatoes. We all love fried potato wedges, don't we? So this recipe is just the extra tasty version of wedges tossed in a honey chilli sauce. It makes for a simply irresistible party starter too.
