Desi Desserts To Tickle Your Sweet Tooth

Our Indian cuisine has a variety of desserts which impress everyone with its unique taste, textures and homely warmth. From the popular mithai like Kaju Katli and Gulab Jamun to Balushahi and Kulfi, you name it and instantly you’ll start drooling. No wonder why both, the typically halwai style mithai and even the homemade sweet treats, are so popular across the world. Here we have brought to you some good old sweet treats that we have all enjoyed for ages, and some desserts that are usually not desserts, but we have made them sweet to tickle your sweet tooth.

Nankhatai

Let’s begin with a simple Nankhatai, which is an authentic Indian sweet and savory eggless cookie that can be easily prepared at home. Made using refined flour, gram flour, ghee and lots of love, this crunchy, crumbly and sweet cookie goes very well with a cup of chai or even coffee.

Rabri Jalebi

Next we have a sweet combo- Rabri Jalebi. Both have their own sweet goodness, but when combined together it makes for an out of this world dessert. The creaminess of the rabri goes so well with the crunch of the jalebi that everyone just falls in love with it instantly.

Paranthas

You must be thinking, weren't we talking of desserts, then how did paratha come into picture? Don't worry, this one is a sweet treat as we bring you, Gur ka parantha. Made with a spoon full of jaggery mixture stuffed in a dough and rolled into paratha, this one is a unique way to satiate your sweet tooth. Otherwise you can also try the Gulab jamun parantha which is literally the best of both worlds.

Golgappa Espresso Shots

Finally, golgappa, paani puri or puchka is a hit with everybody. Time to add the twist to the kahani, this one’s a sweet version - golgappa with coffee, chocolate, cream and crumbled motichoor laddoos. Serve these as a trailer for the fabulous food show to follow.

We hope you enjoy these unique recipes. So wait no more, indulge in these sweet delights soon with your loved ones.
