Bid Farewell To 2023 With Restaurant Style Three Course Meal At Home

Time flies by but the memories always stay. If you believe that is true, then why not make this last week of 2023 extra memorable? Invite your friends and family and share your best memories of 2023. Having said so, throwing such a get-together can be a challenging task. So, we thought we would take that burden off your shoulders and plan a desi restaurant style three course meal menu for you to follow. From starters to desserts, we have kept it simple so you can prepare the meal stress free and then enjoy your times with your loved ones as you hit the dining table together.

Starters:

First impression is the last impression, so start off this culinary experience with a wonderful crisp and c masala papad. Roasted papads topped with a spicy and crunchy masala is unbelievably easy to make and finishes in no time. Here the trick is to have your fresh toppings already chopped and ready to go. So, to make the masala papad, finely chop some onions, tomatoes, green capsicum and fresh coriander leaves, keep them covered individually in bowls. Just as the guests are ready to dine, simply top the roasted urad dal papads with all those chopped veggies and some chaat masala, lemon juice, red chilli powder, salt and serve.

Mains:

For mains we suggest you make - chana masala with bhature, and/or malai kofta with naan and rajma chawal. To make some spicy chana masala, soak the kala chana overnight then cook it in a tasty homemade green curry. Pair it with some freshly baked bhature. That’s correct, save time on frying the bhature, plus add in that little healthy touch to it. If not, you can make malai kofta with naan, because no one can say no to paneer! The perfectly deep-fried cottage cheese koftas cooked in the tomato-based velvety gravy and garnished with cream is just perfect. Finally, we Indians cannot do without rice, so a simple homely recipe like rajma chawal will be a hit.

Desserts:

As decided, end your desi three course meal with a desi delightful sweetness - Pinni. This is a traditional Punjabi sweet, made and eaten mostly during the winter months because the ingredients like sesame seeds and jaggery bring in the much needed warmth to the body. Making it a perfect showstopper for December 2023. Simply make a big batch in advance, and serve on this special dining session.

Did this menu make you drool? Then, plan now and enjoy this restaurant style experience at home to make the end of your year the best.
